This event involves a 12 km race (approx.) from the Perth Pirates’ Maylands foreshore into Claisebrook Cove and back.
Participating boats will be let go at approximately 2-minute intervals. The start of the race will be with the nose of the boat on land with all crew in the boat ready to go. The starter will call the start, at which time the teams will reverse out from the bank and turn to head downstream.

Meeting Area:
Free parking is provided at the Maylands Sport and Rec Centre, 50 Clarkson Rd., Maylands. There will be marshals in Pirate uniforms to direct you from there.
A coffee van has been organised for your coffee needs and will be on site for the morning.
When:
8:30am: Crews arrive, marshal, and set up boats and equipment.
9:20am: A safety briefing will be held on the foreshore for all competitors.
9:40am: The first team in the Claisebrook Challenge will be let go.
The race should take around one to one and a half hours and will be followed by a BBQ and drinks at the Maylands Sport and Recreation Club.
